"When you're in a town like this all covered with smoke, you forget that there's a world outside. Nothing amazing happens here. And you get used to that, used to a world where everything is ordinary. Every day we spend here is like a whole lifetime of dying slowly. But now Haruko is here. That's how I know there really is a world outside."
Cotton Mill Factory designed by North Carolina State Design School students in 1952. (never built) TC Howard of Synergetics, Inc was one of the student designers. TC Howard went on to design most of the early geodesic domes thought to be Buckminster Fuller's such as the Union Tank Car Dome in Baton Rouge, The ASM dome in Ohio, The Climatron in St. Louis, The Queens Zoo in NY, The Poliedro de Caracas, and hundreds of Charter- Sphere domes around the world.
